Welcome to the William B. MacLeay Foundation website! Our goal is to raise money in order to bring technology to people that can benefit from it. Our first program, WiiSeniors was created to bring video game systems into senior care facilities, whether that be nursing homes or retirement communities. These games allow people to experience sports and activities that they haven't been physically able to experience in years, while getting their blood flowing a little. It's a very new idea, but we feel like it could change the way we look at aging and it's impact on enjoying life.
Our organization is in it's infancy, and are simply trying to make a few donations. If we grow beyond that, we'll all be happy to help more people. If not, we'll all be glad we could make a difference.

William Branson MacLeay, my mother's father, was a businessman, an inventor, and a role model. He spent his entire life putting others first, even those he didn't know. His oil company wasn't the most profitable, but that's only because he used to give oil for free to heat the homes of Windsor, Vermont residents on cold days if they couldn't pay him. His inventions never earned him a fortune, but I still give him credit for inventing the windshield wiper before General Motors started using them. He cared about his family more than anything, and he never complained a single day in his life..
He spent his last days at the Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester, Vermont with his family by his side. I've grown to appreciate his contribution to society, and his innovative nature. He gave back his entire life, and hopefully I can do the same. I'm going to keep adding to this portion of the website, because there is so much to say about my grandfather (everybody called him Bill).
